James, who has been married to Danielle for over twenty years, is the father of eight children–five biological and three adopted. The family lives south of Franklin, Tennessee, and they are all very involved in their church as well as other adoption and community ministries.

James has dual membership in the Tennessee and Florida Bars, including a practice in Florida, West Florida Lawyer. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law. During his career, he practiced in both Tennessee and Florida and remains actively licensed in both states.
